An Elden Ring streamer is taking roleplaying to an entirely new level by rolling in real life whenever they roll in the RPG.
The challenges in Elden Ring have reached new heights of absurdity as players attempt to outdo each other by crafting real-world Greatswords to wield, training goldfish to overcome bosses, and finishing the game countless times to achieve unimaginable goals. One particular streamer is pushing the boundaries even further by rolling, in reality, every time their character rolls, creating a true "roleplaying" game.
Streamer and content creator GoodGameEthan embarked on this rolling challenge five months ago and has just managed to defeat Maliketh. The delay can likely be attributed to the need for increased endurance, particularly for their knees. After a grueling three-hour session, they finally overcame Maliketh by dodge rolling both in the game and real life. GoodGameEthan shared this achievement in a Reddit post, accompanied by a clip showing the real-world rolling in action.
This challenge seems excruciatingly demanding, far beyond typical gameplay hurdles. It’s not just about coordinating button presses but also involves physically spinning the entire body to entertain an unseen virtual audience, all while losing precious moments of visual engagement.
In a follow-up comment, the streamer recounted the morning's effort against Godfrey, explaining that after two hours, their knees could no longer sustain the effort. Despite this setback, they remain determined to beat the game before diving into the DLC. Given that thousands of Steam reviews point out the extreme difficulty of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, even seasoned Elden Ring players are finding themselves humbled by an early boss. Investing in some kneepads might be a wise preparation for the challenging journey ahead.
Future FromSoftware games are expected to retain Elden Ring’s blend of freedom and challenge, continuing to push the limits of gamer ingenuity and resilience.
