Unveiling the Enhancements: Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PS5 Pro

The upcoming PS5 Pro edition of Dragon Age: The Veilguard promises a variety of enhancements that set it apart from the standard console version. Developer BioWare has shed light on these improvements, providing gamers with insights into what to expect.

As per the latest information shared through the official EA website, the technical director has outlined several upgrades designed for the PS5 Pro. These upgrades include better global release timings and system requirements for the desktop edition. When it comes to performance, both the Fidelity and Performance modes are expected to see enhancements, featuring improved resolutions in both 30fps Fidelity and 60fps Performance settings. Additionally, players can look forward to upgraded visual settings across these modes.

While these enhancements align with expectations for the PS5 Pro variant, the technical director indicated that the team is utilizing exclusive technology from Sony's enhanced console. Notably, the game will incorporate upgraded image quality through Sony’s AI-driven upscaler, PSSR. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) will be active in the 60fps Performance mode, a capability that was previously limited to the base PlayStation 5 within its 30fps Fidelity mode.

This means that players enjoying Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PS5 Pro can anticipate the benefits of features designed specifically for the upgraded hardware, such as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, enhancing the overall image quality. Additionally, they will experience technically demanding elements like RTAO at higher frame rates, creating an experience comparable to that of a high-end gaming PC.

However, it's important to maintain a realistic outlook; the actual performance of the game on PS5 Pro with all these enhancements remains uncertain. There is always the possibility of inconsistent performance even with more advanced hardware. Fans are hopeful that BioWare can deliver an experience worthy of this high-end mid-generation console upgrade.
